INDUSTRIAL ACTION ADVICE TO MEMBERS

INDUSTRIAL ACTION ADVICE TO MEMBERS

Dear Colleague

As you know we have advised all members to boycott ETI Inspections from 12th January. Your Principal should be advised that UTU members will not be co-operating with the Inspectorate from that date.

Please print off the attached letter available to download below and if a member of ETI comes to your room you should:

(1) Instruct the pupils to commence work on an activity that has been prepared for such an eventuality.

(2) Hand the attached letter to the Inspector.

(3) Do not teach the class.

Do not leave your class unsupervised. The Inspector should respect your right to take lawful industrial action and retreat from the room. Do not feel intimidated by the ETI - they are a visitor to your school and should behave accordingly.

Please let us have feedback regarding any visits by the ETI.

Yours sincerely

 Avril Hall-Callaghan
