If any teacher is a first time sub in your school, please ask them, "Have you ever taught in a Primary School in Northern Ireland before?” If the answer is no, then they must fill in a TR23 in the first school that they are in. This covers them then for all schools. It really should then be sent to your local Education Authority first so they can rubber stamp it and then forward to DE Teachers Pay (Duke Street Londonderry).

Also, if a teacher is changing contract they need to complete a TR23. e.g: If they have been teaching in your school full time permanent and resign....then needed to sub on NISTR, they need a TR23 sent in.

The Teachers Pay Section recognise that it can be difficult to get through on the phone to the main switchboard, who then send calls round to relevant sections.
